Hands on review of Palm’s Pre smartphone, unveiled at CES 2009, with 8 reasons why it could be better than the Apple iphone… on paper at least! The Pre is available in the first half of the year on Sprint in the US, with a 3G version arriving in Europe later in the year.

God i have the pre and i wish i had the iphone. the pre has a terrible app store. the facebook app doesnt even let you use chat. wtf. i have been using itunes for a few years and it doesnt sync like my itouch does. the ipod touch syncs everything on my computer and i dont have to do anything to make it do that. oh well in two years when my sprint contract ends, my family will switch to att and all of us will get our own iphone

I have a pre and an iphone. Iphone UI is snappier and it has lots of apps, that’s about it. Typing with the pre keyboard is way better than typing in the iphone screen and the pre multitasking in pre is something that I really wish the iphone have. If I have to decide, i’ll keep the pre. Now that i remember the pre google maps app’s really sucks compared to the Iphone’s.

Returned 1st Pre due to hardware failure,. My 2nd is the worst, least stable and reliable phone I’ve ever owned. Crashes. Freezes. Enter phone # and it dials 5 min later. Apps randomly open and close. Called tech support 4 times, reset the phone each time, losing photos. Reset last night helped a little except that when I call people they can’t hear me & I can’t hear them. Verdict: Phone deserves capital punishment, will drown it in Boston Harbor when I replace it with string and paper cups.

i love mine! it’s amazing. The mutli tasking is crazy good! the touching works so well, much better than the ipod touch. And it has more memory in it than my touch. the camera is fantastic! You can zoom after you take the pic and it’s still super clear. I used it for the cemetery for a project. The only problem is no video camera. btw i have a palm pre plus!
